The Lady Tigers played against the Lady Titans of Tri-County on September 20. The lead for the J.V. game was passed back and forth between the two teams, but it went very well for the Lady Tigers. Isabel Sheets had lots of good hits, Makenna Love set well the whole night, and Kelcee Lowrance and Kelsey Hites had good passing stats. The end score for the first set was 29-27

As they started the second set, the momentum on the Lady Tigers side started to slowly go down. Tri-County was getting into the game more with good hits and smart plays. They were hitting spots on the court where Hutsonville-Palestine couldn’t get to. Serve Receive was really killing the Lady Tigers too, the passes just weren’t getting to the setter like they should have been. The Lady Titans won the second set with the score of  14-25.

The third and final set started and Tri-County took off with the lead. The got a couple of good serves in and then their energy started to go down. Hutsonville-Palestine took off with the lead and ended up beating the undefeated J.V. Lady Titans with the score of 15-9 .

During warm ups for the varsity game, the Lady Tigers were nervous about what they were going to be walking out on the court against. The other team had tall girls who could jump high and hit hard. Their setter could place the ball anywhere she wanted and had a high volleyball IQ.

The first set didn’t go horrible for the Lady Tigers. They were able to keep up decently with Tri-County. Hard hits, good passes, and smart plays is what won the game for the Lady Titans. The score for the first set was  12-25.

The second set started out really slow for the Lady Tigers and Tri-County got lots of serves in to take the game over. Hutsonville-Palestine had good defense on the left side by Mackenzie Stephenson and Allison Dunlap and some good blocks by Macy Biggs. The Lady Titans had the advantage with everything in the second set. Their offense was so quick that the Lady Tigers defense wasn’t fast enough and that beat them a lot of the time. Hutsonville-Palestine couldn’t pull off the win and the end score was  13-25.

The next games to be played are on September 25 at home against Villa Grove and September 27 at Cumberland. Both games start at 6 o’clock.
