OPH JV Baseball vs Olney

On Tuesday, April 16 the OPH JV baseball team faced off against the Olney Tigers on the home field in Oblong. It was a tough loss for the JV team, but they played their best which is all the fans could ask for.

In the top of the first inning, Olney started things out hot on the home plate because they would end up scoring 4 runs. OPH would respond by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the same inning. Olney continued their streak of scoring when they came back up to bat in the 2nd inning. They would score 5 runs, which would make the score 5-9. In the 3rd inning Olney would get 1 run, and then 2 more runs in the 5th inning. OPH would not score again until the 7th inning. Although OPH managed to get 2 more runs, it was not enough to come back. The final score of the game was 7-12.

Riley Blank had a good hitting night with a double and 3 RBIs. Caden Goodwin had a single, 2 RBIs, and a run. Lucas Blessing also had a single and a run. Ross Williamson had 2 runs and a RBI. Ben Patchett, Martin Stephens, and Cole Littlejohn all scored a run.

When it comes to pitching, Patchett allowed 9 runs, 4 hits, 6 walks, and a strikeout. Goodwin would come in to relieve Patchett in the 3rd inning. Goodwin allowed 3 runs, 4 hits, 8 walks, and 2 strikeouts.

The OPH Wildcats JV team is scheduled to play Cisne at home on Friday April 19. This JV game will be followed immediately by a varsity game. So if you don’t have any plans for your Friday night, come on out to support your Wildcats. Good luck!
