Megan Burton Funds Raised

Megan+Burton+Funds+Raised

A local girl needs our help! Palestine High School alumni, Megan Burton, was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, stage 2, grade 3 tumor, Triple Positive Breast Cancer. As you can imagine, the treatment to fight breast cancer is very expensive. Megan needs all the help she can get! Crawford County has already done a great job at helping her, but we need to keep it going! Here is what we’ve done so far:

  • One fundraiser was on Saturday, September 9th at 5 PM on Main Street of Palestine. This event had food trucks, live music, and a silent auction.
  • Another Fundraiser was held on September 24 from 8-10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Parish Center in Robinson. This event was a free will donation pancake and sausage breakfast. 100% of the proceeds went to Megan and her battle against breast cancer.
  • Megan’s alma mater, Palestine School District, also held some fundraisers to help their alumni. PHS Student Senate sold “Tackle Cancer” #teammegan shirts. The shirt fundraiser raised $854 for Megan. Everyone who purchased a Team Megan shirt then wore them to the pink out game on October 13th. At the game, there was also a jar at the concessions for any extra donations people liked to give. Palestine School District also held a hat day and sold donuts and raised $1000.
  • Megan’s former OPH cheer squad hosted a bake sale during the chili supper of homecoming week on October 11th. The squad raised $302 for their past teammate.

Crawford County is coming together to help support our local girl Megan and her fight against cancer. If anymore fundraisers arise, please help out! Your support is very appreciated by Megan, her family and friends, and our entire community. #TeamMegan
