Exciting win for the OPH Wildcats

Exciting+win+for+the+OPH+Wildcats

On Saturday, January 20th, the OPH Wildcats boys basketball team played the North Clay Cardinals. The game was held at Oblong High School. JV started at 6:15, and the Varsity game followed.

Earlier this week, the Wildcats had to cancel a few games. The game on Tuesday against Altamont was cancelled because a lack of officials. The game Friday against Dieterich was cancelled because of inclement weather.
The team was very eager to play a game of basketball after their last two games were cancelled earlier this week. This excited behavior was shown the entire game. Throughout the game the Wildcats and Cardinals stayed head to head and kept a close score. With just 8.6 seconds left on the clock, the Cardinals were leading with a 67-65 score. Max Lewis saved the game and sunk a 3 pointer into the basket with 2.6 seconds left and ultimately winning the game by 1 point. The final score was 68-67. Everyone in the crowd was up, showing their excitement and support for the Wildcats after this thrilling win. This game will be a great memory for the players and all the fans!
The following players contributed points to the OPH win. Riley Blank with 26 points. Graydon Kincaid added 13 points. Max Lewis scored 10 points. Trevan Webster contributed 6 points. Callum Roeder had 4 points. Holden Sipes with 3 points. Rowan Bailey, Will Callaway, and Devin Lawyer each scored 2 points.
The Wildcats are scheduled to play their next game on Monday, January 23rd against the Edward County Lions. JV will start at 6:00 and Varsity will follow. Congratulations to the Wildcats with their exciting win, and good luck with the rest of your season!
