Easter is coming soon!

Did you know that Easter is a secular and also a religious holiday? That means that Easter is celebrated in two different ways. For example, Easter as a secular holiday is about a giant bunny rabbit that is called the Easter Bunny, that hides eggs filled with candies, stickers, little gifts, and money in multiple eggs in your backyard, or a field at a park. Sometimes you will also receive something called an Easter basket that is filled with eggs, candies, little gifts, a chocolate bunny, and sometimes money as well. This all usually happens on the Sunday that Easter falls on.

If you would like to celebrate the religious version, then that is about how Jesus resurrects after three days of being left behind a boulder after his death of crucifiction. That is why people sometimes decide to go to church before doing their Easter egg hunts, and their other traditions.

Some people wonder how these two things collide together. Well, I think the bunny represents rebirth and resurrection. The eggs and candies are said to represent an ancient symbol of new life that has been associated with pagan festivals celebrating spring, it is also said that they represent Jesus’s emergence from the tomb and resurrection.

Easter is a great holiday to celebrate whether you decide to celebrate it secularly or religiously.

Finally, because people like Easter egg hunts, you usually see banners around towns announcing when an Easter egg hunt will be happening. Below is a list of the Easter Egg Hunts that will be around our community.
