- A singular cloud weighs around a million tonnes!
A singular cloud typically has a volume of around 1km3 and a density of estimated 1.003kg per m3. That means that’s a density that’s around 0.4 percent lower than the air surrounding it, and that is how they are able to float as well.
- Giraffes are 30 times more likely to get hit by lightning rather than people!
Although there are only five well-documented fatal lightning strikes on giraffes from 1996-2010, thanks to the population of the species being just a little over 140,000, that small five giraffes is about 0.003% lightning deaths per thousand giraffes each year. This is equivalent to 30 times the fatality rate for humans.
- Identical twins don’t have the same fingerprints!
You cannot blame a full crime(s) on your twin. This is due to the environmental factors during development in the womb (the position you’re in, and rate of finger growth) can actually affect your fingerprints!
- Animals can experience time differently from humans!
To most smaller animals, the universe around them moves in slow-mo compared to the average humans. Salamanders and both lizards experience time more slowly than cats and dogs. This occurs due to the perception of time depending on how quickly the brain can process information.
- Water might not be wet..?
Water may not be wet due to the fact that most scientists define wetness as a liquid’s ability to maintain contact with a solid surface, meaning that water itself is not wet, but can make other objects wet.
