Mothers Day

Mothers Day

This weekend be sure to wish whoever has been the motherly figure in your life a very Happy Mother’s Day.

May 12, 2024, is Mother’s Day. On May 12, 1907, the first ever Mother’s Day was celebrated by Anna Jarvis. She held a celebration for her late mother Ann. She wanted to honor her and ensure that everyone knew the importance of mothers and how they are the ones who hold families together. Anna led a campaign to establish a holiday that recognized her beliefs, and she was successful, within five years every United States state was observing Mother’s Day and in 1914 U.S. President Woodrow Wilson made it a national holiday.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. It is important on Mother’s Day to let your mom or whomever helped play the role as your mom feel appreciated and loved. From the time you are an infant to the time our moms take their last breath they will worry about us and nurture and love us. They work so hard every day and every moment of their lives to ensure you are loved and taken care of that they deserve this day to be shown that we see their compassion and hard work. Most moms have a full-time job and still come home and will make everything else work around the house.

So, this weekend be sure to spend time with your mom. Cherish the time you have with your mom. Happy Mother’s Day to all mom’s out there!
