On Monday, March 25th, the class of 2024 decided to trick everyone and partake in senior skip day. Senior skip day is a long standing tradition for most senior classes in the United States. This is a day for seniors to prank the school with their absence, while also having a fun day near the end of their academic career. This year’s seniors decided to take their senior skip day for a trip to Evansville.

There was a lot of discussion that went into planning this event, but the class ultimately decided to have a fun, relaxing day shopping. They started out the day meeting at classmate Charlie Burkett’s house and leaving bright and early at 8 AM. Once arriving in Evansville, the seniors decided to get Starbucks to jump start their long day. After that, they started at their longest destination, the mall. They did all kinds of things like clothing shopping, build-a-bear, and even all American Target. Once the seniors had shopped for 3 hours straight, they decided they needed some food to pick them back up. They ate at Drakes, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! Following lunch, they headed for the biggest stores yet: Marshalls, Target, Homegoods, and TJ Maxx. And of course, they had to stop at Crumbl Cookie and Krispy Kreme for a snack before leaving town. The damage to their wallets was definitely done!

Overall, all of the seniors that participated in the Evansville senior skip day trip had a great time. This was a great way for the seniors to have fun altogether before they each go their separate ways. Now bring on the rest of the “lasts” for this group!
