The Oscars

The Oscars

The 2024 Oscars were held on March 10 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood California. Also known as the Academy Awards, the awards show celebrated its 96th year and was aired on ABC. Jimmie Kimmel was the awards host for the fourth year in a row.

One of the big winners of the night was Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer earned seven Oscars from its 13 nominations, including the top prize of the night, best picture, as well as best director for Christopher Nolan.

In the lead acting categories, Poor Things star Emma Stone took home the award for best actress while Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy took home best actor.

On the music side, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell won the Oscar for best original song for “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie. Speaking of Barbie, Ryan Gosling gave an unforgettable rendition of “I’m Just Ken,” even going into the crowd and getting his costars in on the action.

The Oscars is also a very fashion forward awards show. Though there were bright moments and colors , many of the tuxedos and gowns that graced the carpet were a lovely shade of black. Some stars’ ensembles harkened back to attire they wore at prior Oscars ceremonies.

Whether your favorite movie won or lost, or your favorite actress was robbed of the award you thought she deserved, the Oscars are definitely worth watching. To me, the fashion always steals the show!
