Weather

The next seven days are going to be some of the coldest days we have seen this winter. We will also see wind, rain, and snow. Today and tonight, we have a wind advisory in effect from 10am today January 12, 2024, through tomorrow 4:00am Saturday January 13, 2024. Wind gusts between 40-45 mph will be possible today. This evening the wind gusts could reach up to 55mph. Light snow showers are possible tonight into early Saturday morning accumulating up to one inch. The wind blowing combined with the snow could result in reduced visibility. Also, if you must be out driving you will need to be watching for slick spots on the roadways. Saturday January 12, 2024, we are looking at wind gusts up to 40 mph. A long period of frigid temperatures are expected Saturday January 12, 2024 through Thursday January 18, 2024. Air temperatures will fall to below zero Sunday and Monday night. Wind chills could reach 20 below zero Tuesday morning. If you are ever under a winter storm warning, always remember to stay off the roads, use generators outside only, stay indoors and dress warmly, listen for emergency information and alerts, prepare for power outages, look for signs of hypothermia and frostbite, and check on neighbors and pets. Also, if you have any outdoor pets and it is too cold for you to be outside don’t you agree that it is too cold for them to be outside too? So, bring them into the warmth with you. They didn’t ask to be out in the extreme weather so treat them as you would your family and bring them in! Stay safe and stay warm. It is going to be very cold this next week!
