Do you think that participating in some type of sport will make you a better person than before you started? I think absolutely. A lot of sports and the lessons derived from them can be applied to life in a lot of ways. To be successful in life you must be accountable, word extremely hard, pay attention, be resilient, and the list goes on and on. But these are all the exact same things required to be successful in any sport. Even if you aren’t any good at the sport, just being in the environment and seeing everyone else striving to be a better version of themselves, will broaden your horizons. Every day you have practice. There will be games throughout the week, and some nights you won’t get home till real late. School the next day and you’d better hope you found enough time to do all your homework and study. The life of a student-athlete can be chaotic, busy, and hard but it’s still possible to do. The ones who can learn how to manage their time will become a better person than they once were. I think everyone should get outside of their comfort zone and play at least one sport.
