Volleyball Season Comes To An End

On October 22 the Lady Tiger volleyball team played their last game of the season. Hutsonville is hosting a branch of regional games this year and last night was the first round. Neoga traveled down last night to compete against Hutsonville-Palestine for the very first game of the week and came ready to win.

The Lady Tigers came out sluggish in the first set with careless mistakes and missed serves. Neoga had good outside and middle hitters who could place the ball and get a kill when it was needed. That caused the Lady Tigers to lose many points and Neoga took the lead quickly. Hutsonville-Palestine couldn’t seem to pick up the momentum in the first set, so it was on to the next.

The second set was completely different for the Lady Tigers. Their energy came from out of nowhere and that carried them through the second set with a win. The defense stepped up, the sets were placed in the right spot, and the hitting wasn’t being blocked. The Lady Tigers, along with the fans were hopeful to see a win in the third set as well.

Neoga got the first serve for the third set and took off with the lead. After seven points the Lady Tigers got the ball and were able to put some points on the board. The effort that our girls were putting into the game just wasn’t enough to win the game. They walked off the court sad, but still proud of how their season went this year. Senior Macy Biggs was hit by the fact that this is the last time she will ever play volleyball with this group of girls. “I’m never going to play volleyball again and I’m never going to get to play with my girls.”

Game are still continuing this week at Hutsonville tonight, the 23, and Thursday night with that being the championship game.
