What I’ve learned in High School

High school has been a wonderful experience for me. There have been some ups and downs, but I have enjoyed every moment of being here. It’s been a crazy experience to go from always having to do homework to being able to hang out with my friends during class. When I was just going into high school as a freshman, my older brother told me, “Enjoy the 4 years of high school; it will go by quicker than you think.” I didn’t really believe him when he said that. I just thought that it would be a long and boring 4 more years of high school.

Academically, I have learned tons of stuff, which, if I’m being honest, I have forgotten a lot of. I have learned how to use math equations to solve everyday problems, learned more about the history of our country, and learned how to dissect a bunch of different animals. Even though I hate doing homework, it has helped me develop the ability to stay on task for a long period of time.

Emotionally, high school has been pretty fun. I was pretty nervous coming into my freshman year, but as the year went on, I got used to everything. There were some days that I got pretty mad at my classmates because of some of the stuff they said, but at the end of the day, we are all still friends. This year has definitely been the best of the previous years. Gavin and I have gotten into some trouble this year, but that is just because we enjoy messing with each other. One time, he painted me in Biology class, and I basically did the same thing to him, and Mr. Will was not happy. (LOL!)

I have enjoyed every bit of high school, and I am going to be pretty upset when I can’t see my friends every day. At the same time, I am ready for the next chapter of my life, and that starts with getting out of high school. I know that the future has a lot to greet me with, and I am ready for all of it!
