What I’ve Learned in High School

The last four years have gone by super fast. I have learned many things in these last 4 years. Some things I learned were wonderful while others were not so much. In school these last four years I have learned a lot about myself and the people around me and I have learned many new things as well.

Some of the things I have learned academically are very interesting. Like that one time in science we learned about sharks and even took apart the sharks, and we learned how to tell if it is a female or a male. This was such a fun class. Another thing I learned in school is that lots of people have had a tough life and I have learned that through my English classes. We have read many books in English and, to list a few, there was Into Thin Air, The Glass Castle, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird and my favorite, Fahrenheit 451. As you can see, I have learned many things academically.

I have also learned plenty of things about myself over the last four years. I used to be a pretty energetic person, but over the last four years I have kind of calmed down a bit, even though sometimes I still get spikes of energy and I go off the walls a bit when that happens. I have also learned what I want to do with my life. Surprisingly, before I used to hate doing art and would say things like I can’t do it and all that stuff, but over the last four years I have fallen in love with art, and I’m even going to college for it. I have learned many new things about myself, but overall, I’m me.

I have also learned socially. I used to be a pretty shy person and sometimes I still am. This past year, though, I’m finally coming out of my shell and talking to people more and I have even made 4 new friends this year. I think I’m slowly becoming a better person as I age and I definitely have matured socially at least.

As you can see, I’m slowly becoming the person I want to be and I’m so happy with all the things that I have learned from these past four years and I hope to keep on learning until I’m gone.
