I sat down with my brother Gavin Postlewaite, a freshman and player on the OPH football team. I asked him a few questions in our free time for this week’s Freshman Spotlight.

When asked what his first week of school was like, he said “It was good! It is different from the grade school, but I really like the environment and the freedom here.” I asked him what he thought of his classes and he said, “They are not hard; they just take a lot of time and work which gets annoying, but I am kinda used to it from the teachers doing the same thing at the grade school.”

We then went on the discuss the football team. I asked Gavin how this year’s team is doing and how he likes it. Gavin said, “I love it. I am glad we have a good team this year with a lot of players. There is a lot of talent and we have a good coach.” ThenI asked about last Friday’s game, the boys’ first game. He said “It sucked, honestly. We played hard, but just made some mistakes which cost us the game, but now we know what we need to work on. We took it as a good learning experience and something to base ourselves off of. It is going to be a good season.”
I followed up this interview with one last question which everyone wants to know about every student. I asked Gavin who his favorite teacher is. Gavin immediately said, “Probably Mr. Blank because I have known him for a while with him being Mrs. Blank’s husband. Our families hang out together and P.E. is also my favorite class.”

I want to thank Gavin for giving me the time to do this interview and I think everyone looks forward to seeing what he does throughout high school and on the football field this year.
