Upcoming Blood Drive

Upcoming Blood Drive

Katie Lanham, Editor

The Student Senate at PHS is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, January 26th. The Red Cross is having a major shortage of blood this year, and needs all of the donations that they can get. Every donation can save up to 3 lives, and it’s important to show up to help other people. Also, if you donate enough through your high school career, you get a set of red cords to wear on your graduation day.

The blood drive will be held in the PHS gym, and anyone 17 or older can donate without parent’s consent. 16 year-olds can donate blood with a signed permission form from their parents. There are height and weight requirements to keep all donators healthy, so if you’re on the smaller side, you should probably check those out. Blood donations are by appointment only, and if you have the Red Cross app, the appointments are easy to make.

Appointments will be available from 1:30 to 6 PM.
