Everyone wears their nice festive pajamas on Christmas Day, but who goes a step further and dresses up their beloved furry friends.

Mrs. Hyde has two dogs but only one of them dresses up. His name is Buster and he’s a golden retriever. He sometimes dresses up in a cute Christmas sweater that she got two years ago. She usually forgets about it in the closet however. Mrs Hyde said, “He doesn’t mind wearing it. He might not like the bells on it that jingle all the time, but he’s the perfect dog and loves everything.” Apparently he’s very needy though, and ate his dog bed for Christmas last year.

Dalton dresses up his one dog. He likes to put a Santa hat or antlers on top of their head. He also puts jingle bells on it’s testicles. Dalton said, ” He hates being dressed up, but I still do it anyway.” A funny story about Dalton’s dog, is that once he was running through the house until he slipped on some water and went into one of the cabinets.

Michlynn has a cat that she dresses up for Christmas. He has an elf costume this year. She said, “Once I put it on him, he was really playful and liked it I think.” Apparently it playfully attacked her other cat once the sweater was on. This is the first year that he was big enough to wear something like this though.

Lauren has a dog named Rosy who is an English bulldog. Her dog doesn’t enjoy being dressed up, but she doesn’t mind it. Lauren’s funny story with her dog is that, ¨Every time she barks, she sounds like a pig.¨ Lauren loves her dog, and loves to always be with her.

Josiah has dog named Ashley, which is a Fiest and a mini Pin mix. It wore a sweater with a skull on it for Halloween. The Christmas outfit is still in the works but big plans are ahead I hear. They just got her two weeks ago. Josiah said, ¨She can jump very high. She jumps so she can see out the window on the very top of the door to see who´s there.¨

In conclusion, not many people like to dress their pets up for Christmas. This is very sad and disappointing. I’m sure your pets secretly want to be dressed in a cool costume, they just don’t know how to tell you that. So this Christmas, get your animal a cute little sweater or something and let them know they are loved.
