Cajun Chicken Alfredo and Garlic Cheese Bread

The other night, I had found a recipe for Creamy Alfredo Sauce and wanted to kick it up a notch with some other things.

The recipe for the the Cajun Chicken Alfredo:

  • 6 Tbs. salted butter
  • 1 Tbs. minced garlic
  • 1 Tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbs. flour
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cup whole milk (or any milk it doesn’t matter I personally use 2 percent)
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 package of fettuccine noodles
  • A package of chicken breasts
  • Cajun seasoning

Recipe for Garlic Cheese Bread

  • French loaf of garlic and herb bread or any bread
  • 1 Tbs. minced garlic
  • 3 Tbs. of salted butter
  • Parmesan cheese (Optional)

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. While that is preheating, in medium sauce pan over medium high heat, melt your butter. Once melted, add your minced garlic and garlic powder. Whisk together to combine.

Step 2: Sprinkle in flour over the butter and garlic. Whisk it together then slowly add your heavy whipping cream and milk while whisking. Let the sauce begin to boil then reduce the heat to low temperature and allow the cream mixture to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 3: While the sauce is simmering, coat each chicken breast with Cajun seasoning and cook in the skillet with butter and garlic until done. While chicken is cooking, cut bread into 1/2 slices 3/4 of the way through the loaf. Melt the butter and garlic together and put in between each slice of bread on the loaf. Spread what is left on the top. Wrap the loaf in tin foil leaving the top open for the cheese. Cook for 5-10 minutes to crisp and melt the cheese.

Step 4: After the sauce is done simmering, add the Parmesan cheese and whisk together to combine the cheese with the cream. After combined, add the fettuccine noodles and the chicken. Take your bread out of the oven and enjoy!

I personally really liked this recipe because it was very simple to make. Even though it’s Chicken Alfredo, the sauce is quick to make, and super tasty. It seems like a challenge but if you just like noodles with it then you do not have to add the chicken. If you want it Cajun just add 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning to your Alfredo sauce if cooking without chicken.
