Veterans Day Parade Program

In order to celebrate and honor our veterans that have given and put their lives on the line to fight for our country and freedom, we held a parade this year on November 10th at 2:00 p.m. Kids were happy to get out of class and to celebrate our veterans together as every school should.

During the parade, the veterans taped paper posters to their vehicles and drove in front of Palestine Grade School, where high school, middle school, and elementary school students lined the sidewalks outside the grade school, waving signs and crafts they had made and American flags. After driving around the front of the grade school, everyone met in the back of the school on the football field where the band played music and the chorus sang to show their appreciation for the veterans. Veterans got to sit with their children and grandchildren, and after the band was done playing their music, there were refreshments in the concession stand that Mrs. Inboden’s class had been made for Veterans Day.

All in all, it was a great experience for the kids, teenagers, teachers, adults, and veterans. I was glad to be able to experience this with everyone around us.
