Trapshooting

A new sport has been added to the PHS/OPH/HHS menu:  trap shooting.  As of right now, four students are signed up to participate: Justice Christine, Kaden McCormack, Wayne Griffin, and Wade Hook, and the district is still looking for a coach.  As soon as one is found, the season will begin.

Trap shooting is one of the three major disciplines of competitive clay pigeon shooting. The other disciplines are skeet shooting  and sporting clays.  In trap shooting, clay targets, or “pigeons,” are launched from a machine away from the shooter.  Trap shooting was originally created to provide practice for bird hunters, which is why the targets are called pigeons.
