Dr. Jeff Walker, Palestine High School’s new Business teacher, planned on being an accountant when he went to college, but during his freshman year he was told that there were too many kids enrolled, so he switched to Business Education. Over forty years later, Dr. Walker has earned a total of five degrees in Education and Business,.

Throughout his career he has been a superintendent, principal, school business manager, school administrator, and a teacher at the high school and college level.  A couple of years ago, he went back to teaching full time after being a school administrator for thirty years.

Dr. Walker chose to teach here at Palestine High School because he likes to teach at small schools and he liked  the location . He is originally from Minnesota where, he said, “you could drive a mile down the road and you were in Iowa.” He graduated from a school about the same size and age as old as Palestine High School.

Dr. Walker has worked in many places before coming here. While he spent most of his career in Wisconsin, he has also worked in  Arizona, China, Korea, and Qatar (a country in the Middle East).

Here at Palestine, Dr. Walker has a lot of classes and says, “I don’t know how Mrs. Jenkins did it!” but he said, “so far, so good.”  Compared to the other places Dr. Walker has worked he said that he has much more equipment and more resources here.

Dr. Walker teaches Computer Applications 1-4 (Computer Apps 3-4 is only available to students in 10-12), Introduction to Business, Web Page Design & Maintenance, Accounting 1-2 (only available to students in 10-12), Principles of Marketing, Business Math, Business Correspondence & Communication, Business & Everyday Law, Business Economics/Humans Resources Management, and Youth Apprenticeship (only available to students in 11-12).
