Movie review – Shang-Chi

Tyler Dennison, Contributor

I watched Shang-Chi on 9/23/21 at the Robinson Eagle Theater. Going into the movie, I wasn’t expecting much. I was expecting to not enjoy the movie, and want to leave as soon as it started. I was completely wrong.
In the movie, martial-arts master Shang-Chi confronts the past he thought he left behind when he’s rawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.  The movie started out with great plot twists, then moved on to impressive special effects, and then had very entertaining fight scenes. The female main character, Awkwafina, and a filler character Ben Kingsley brought a great comedic standpoint, while all the other characters brought great serious action to the film.
The movie received a 10 out of 10 rating for me, and I think anyone 13 or older would enjoy this movie.
