Mr. Smith and 16 students from the biology 1, biology 2, and botany/genetics classes went to the annual Envirothon competition in Olney. There were 3 teams: team 1 consisting of Chase Knoblett, Carson Fritchie, Lindsay Ryan, August Biernbaum, and Jade Monroe. Team 2 was Brendyn Piper, Macy Biggs, Allison Dunlap, Sheltann Waller, and Seth Bailey. Team 3 had Evan Holscher, Nathan More, Abbey McCord, Brennen Burkett, and Layni Branson. Nathan White also came along as an alternate for Palestine.

The day consisted of taking 5 test: forestry, aquatics, wildlife, soils, and a 5th category. Each one had a 30 minute time limit and then there was a 5 minute break in between every test.

Team 1 for Palestine did the best. They got 3rd overall with the score of 273! We are very proud of everyone that went and the way they represented Palestine High School!
