Solo and Ensemble

Solo+and+Ensemble

On Saturday,  March 2, two students from PHS went to Lawrenceville High School for the Solo and Ensemble music competition. My sister, Marissa Lanham and I were the two students.  We practiced for the week before with our accompanist Mrs. Mendenhall to perfect our solos as much as possible before we were judged.

We went into the weekend not feeling as prepared as we had wanted but we still knew that we could do this, and we would take whatever score we got.

Marissa and I  went into solo and ensemble with our game faces on and not showing much nervousness, though we were completely freaking out on the inside.

In the end, Marissa got a one and I got a two. I was kind of upset about getting a two because it is my senior year and the first time that I have not gotten a one.  But then I realized that I could have done worse. On the rating scale one is the best and five is the worst so getting a two means that I still did fine.
