Drama Club Spring Productions

The Palestine Drama Club will be presenting three small one acts this year in the spring called Elevator Games, The First Date, and Death of the Doorstep Kiss. Although the productions are not until April 12 and 13,  auditions were held on Thursday, February 21, and Friday, the 22. The cast list went up outside of Mrs. Hyde’s door Monday, and practices will begin as soon as possible.

This year’s production could be a challenge because two of the plays that the Drama Club is doing have been done in the past.  This year’s actors are challenging themselves to see if they can make these productions as good or better than the last ones.

Jade Monroe, a junior in Drama Club, says she is looking forward to the plays this spring, and of course she has a few parts that she is hoping to get, but like most actors in Drama Club, it seems like she doesn’t care what part she gets.

The Drama Club has a new sound system that will be used for the first time during the spring production, even the sound and lights crew has new roles to learn.

Drama Club is also excited to act for the first time in front of the newly painted black back wall and back curtain.  This will make the job of those who paint backdrops much easier as there is less to cover up during each scene.
