Every year thousands of people tune into watch the Superbowl, but some of them are only there for the commercials. An ad slot in the Super Bowl doesn’t come cheap. CBS charged around $5 million for a 30-second spot in the game this year, close to how much NBC charged last year. There were many new companies that threw their hat into the ring this year, including the dating app Bumble and Kraft’s frozen-food brand, Devour. There were also several that came back this year including Anheuser-Busch, Avocados From Mexico, and Kia.

Here are six of the best commercials of 2019.

  1. Amazon

In this ad, Amazon is advertising their Alexa by putting her into a microwave but also showing off some of the fails they tried. The fails include putting Alexa into Forest Whitaker’s electric toothbrush, the collar of Harrison Ford’s dog, and the hot tub of Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. Then they show where Alexa turned off the power of the entire Earth by accident.

     NFL

In this ad, the NFL is celebrating their 100th season when the golden football drops on the ground causing 40 of the best now and then football players to break out into a game. This was very creative and funny while keeping the football theme.

  1. Audi

In this ad, Audi is showing off their new electric cars. They do this by having a man that is choking on a cashew envision an electric vehicle future. At the end Audi states that one-third of all new Audi models will be electrified by 2025.

  1. Bubly

In this ad, Michael Bublé is convinced that he has a drink named after him when others try to tell him otherwise. He even tries to mark out Bubly and write Bublé over it inside of a gas station.

  1. Mint Mobile

In this ad, Mint Mobile is advertising their $20 subscription a month when a man says “That’s not right” before the Mint fox spokesperson says, “It’s right all right. Now chunky style milk, that’s not right.” Then it shows a family of 3 drinking chunky style milk, making this commercial funny but also hard to watch at the same time.

  1. Pringles

In this ad, Pringles shows two guys that have lots of Pringles in front of them and one of them stacks three of them together. After saying how many such combinations are possible, a smart device in the room becomes sad since the device can’t eat them. To change the mood, the guy tells the device to play “Funkytown.”

This year there were many good commercials but some companies did not do so well on making their commercials. Burger King was one of the commercials that fell short of success and has been called the worst Super Bowl commercial of 2019. Some other commercials that viewer did not like included Michelob Ultra Pure Gold, Bon + Viv Spiked Seltzer, and Colgate.

Bud Light’s Super Bowl commercial was one of the favorites, but not everyone agreed with it. When a shipment barrel of corn syrup is delivered by mistake to the Bud Light kingdom, its king searches for its rightful owner. The king recalls that Miller Lite brews its beer with corn syrup, so he and his group set off. During their journey, they set up camp and make sure they know their plans. Upon arriving at the Miller Lite castle, they learn that the kingdom had already received its corn syrup shipment. The group then sets off for the Coors Light’s kingdom when arriving upon the Coors Light kingdom gratefully accepts the syrup. This made farmers upset because they rely on companies like Miller Lite and Coors Light to stay in business.
