On February 6th, fourteen Palestine High School Students traveled to Olney for the annual Academic Challenge (formerly known as WYSE), hosted at Olney Central College.  The competition consists of each student taking tests in two categories, which are Biology, Chemistry, English, Physics, Engineering Graphics, and Computer Science.  This year’s team included seven seniors, five juniors, and two sophomores.  Palestine has been very successful in past Academic Challenges and hoped to test well and continue to succeed.

After taking the two tests, the teams breaked for lunch and then came back for the awards!  Three of PHS’s students placed; Carson Fritchie-1st in Biology, Seth Bailey-2nd in Physics, Lindsay Ryan-3rd in Physics.  With three medalists and strong scores for everyone, Palestine’s entire team advanced to Sectionals!  The team will travel to EIU in Charleston for Sectionals in March to compete once again.
