LOVC Tourney

This week kicked off the LOVC Tournament. Games were intended to start on Saturday, January 19, but due to the incoming inclement weather, they were pushed back to Monday, January 21. The Tigers started off the tournament in Cumberland on Monday against the Oblong Panthers. They were able to put up a very good defense and offense throughout the game, making it a tough battle for the Panthers. The final score was 54-40, making this the Tigers’ tenth win of the season.

To continue the tournament, the Tigers also played Tuesday night against Villa Grove. This game was a back and forth lead for both teams, making them put up tremendous effort and work. The Tigers made it very obvious that they were playing their hearts out in this game. In the 4th quarter, Villa Grove had the lead, the Tigers fought hard and were able to tie. Unfortunately, Villa Grove managed to score three more points with 3 seconds left on the clock. Final score was 71-68, for Villa Grove.

The Tigers will play for 3rd place in their division Friday, January 25 against Cumberland. They will then travel to Arcola on Saturday, January 26 for a matchup against the 3rd or 4th place finisher from the other division.
