On Sunday, January 13, a banquet was held to honor the winners of this year’s Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen.  This writing contest and ceremony is sponsored by the VFW Post 4549 and Auxiliary in Robinson. The program consisted of the introduction of teachers and students to recognize their hard work and appreciation for this country.  Each winner was presented with an award and then read his or her essay to the audience. The winners of the Palestine High School’s Voice of Democracy were first place Abbey McCord, second place Katie Lanham, and third place Makinley Bonesteel.  The banquet concluded with a prayer after the reading of essays. All of PHS is proud of each of these ladies and their achievement!
