The tournament in Newton was a completely different tournament. Avry and trace had a gameplan to run the whole way to the other side of the lake to look for spawning fish. It was a long boat ride all the way over there but when they got there the boat captain Todd Monti had a idea to start farther down the lake then what they originally planned. Avry at first did not like the idea, but he said screw it lets do it. On Avry’s first cast he catches a decent size fish. They put it in the live well, and the not even five seconds later Avry hears Trace say, “I got a big one” and he sure did.
Trace pulls in a 3.5 pound bass and Avry’s fish was right around the three pound mark as well. Right there they have 6lbs. They keep moving down the lake and Trace catches another fish. This one is just a tad bit smaller than the other ones. They keep moving along the bank and Avry makes a cast and it goes through a tree branch but the bait land in the water. Avry says “If I hook one were screwed.”
Then Avry looks up and sees his line swimming away, so Avry sets the hook, and he got one look at the fish. He knew it was big so immediately Avry yells “Its big! We need to go in there and get it!” So they drive the boat into the tree and with great luck they land the fish. It was 4.5 lbs and that puts then in the 12 pound range. They have 4 of there 5 fish they keep moving down the bank, and Avry hookups again with another almost 4lb fish. Now they have five fish for around 16lbs so they switch spots because the bite shuts off so they move spots. They go to the back of a cove and they kept catching fish but they were not big enough to help them. Then Avry catches another 4lb fish now they are at 16.4 pounds for five fish at the end of the day the got 6th out of 95 boats so they ended the day on a very good note.
Good tournament for these two boys .
