Week 23 power rankings. With the NBA nearing the playoffs this is when some teams step up or fall down. Most of the top teams will stay in their spots but the teams on the edge will fight for a playoff spot. Games will get more interesting and the rankings will change. These last weeks mean everything for some teams. Some teams will fall out of the top spots leaving more room for other teams. Competition is tight there is no telling what could happen.
Some teams are fighting for their lives while others are just trying to stay healthy like the Thunder. With one of their star players in Jalen Williams being out they want him to get back healthy for the playoffs. While the Nuggets finally get back to a full roster of healthy players with Peyton Watson returning. There are so many great players out like Stephen Curry, Cade Cunningham and Joel Embiid. This also can make games more interesting and closer. So the league needs to look out for those healthy teams. The best player of the week is no surprise from a team fighting to get a good spot in the playoffs is Brandon Miller with the Hornets. The worst player of the week is from a team that will most likely not be playing in the playoffs with Bub Carrinton from the Wizards not doing so hot. The team of the week was the Lakers going 4-0, but the Magic went 0-4 at the same time. The west is still up on the east with the record now being 203-190 there isn’t much room for the east to make a comeback. The biggest jump in the rankings were the Hornets going up 5 spots. Which is probably the biggest jump we have seen all year. The biggest drop was the Magic and they just can’t seem to figure it out and drop 4 spots. The teams to watch are the Cleveland Cavaliers, they have won three straight games but with better competition coming up it will put them to the test.
I can’t wait for the playoffs. It is one of the most exciting times of the NBA season. Teams are most likely going to be at full potential. Games will be closer and there is no telling who is gonna rise in the ranking. To see more about the rankings and where your favorite team is go to NBA.com.
