The Kia Rookie Ladder has been very very competitive this year. This is one of the best rookie classes we have seen in a long time. Kids like Kon Knueppel and Cooper Flagg have been running the show for most of the year but there are still other rookies to look out for going forward especially in the playoffs.
At the top spot former teammates at Duke University Kon Knueppel and Cooper Flagg have been battling. All year it has been mostly back and forth with both players being great aspects for their teams, but with Flagg out with an injury it was an opportunity for Kon to seal that top spot, and he did. Flagg is still on his tail though and I can’t wait to see what he will do when he comes back. There are still serious contenders other than these two though. At the third spot you have VJ Edgecombe who proved he can still be in the race and at four there is Derik Queen. Both VJ and Queen are very good players but have not surpassed Flagg or Kon but there is still some season left so just maybe they could have a chance at those top spots.
This year’s rookie class has been amazing. There are more rankings and information on NBA.com. Next year is looked at to be potentially better too so who knows what could happen.
