The OPH girls basketball team played Newton last night. The score was 70 to 43 with Newton winning. Talking to Emily Rachoy, she says the team did not score in the second quarter at all And it wasn’t like all in our grill. Newton’s defense was very relaxed. The girls had trouble making their shots fall throughout the whole game. Their leading scorer Genna Kidwell did not score until the second half. Emily Rachoy and Alyssa Tipton had five points in the whole game.
The girls played in a 2-3 zone for The second quarter, and then they switched to man into the third, and that made a big difference with holding the Newton Eagles from scoring. In general the OPH girls basketball team has a lot of potential to be good. The girls have a good chance of finishing out their last three games with wins, and they have a regional tournament that they have a good chance to win their first game. All around, this has been a very good season for the OPH Wildcat girls.
