Weekly power rankings are looking more and more interesting as the season goes on. Week 13 has an almost totally different top 5 with what has been normal. The season is not quite halfway done for most teams so things can change quickly. There are a lot of teams running for that top 5 and want it badly.
Power rankings can show us what teams have been playing the best over the season as well as what players on some teams are playing the best or worst. Starting with some of the best performances of the week is LaMelo Ball at the top with a plus minus of plus 83 in four games. At the bottom is Cody Williams with a minus 68 over four games. The best performance from a team is the Portland Trailblazers going 3-1 winning seven of their last eight. While the Miami Heat went 0-3 almost going below .500. In the battle between the East and West the West is still up 96-83 going 14-11 against the east last week. Some of the toughest schedules have been Sacramento, New Orleans, and Utah’s schedules. While some of the easiest have been for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets, and the Detroit Pistons. The highest jump in the rankings was the Phoenix Suns jumping up 3 spots. The farthest fall was the Houston Rockets dropping five places in the rankings. Oklahoma City is back on top and like always is a team to look out for.
With the power rankings done for this week there have been some big drops and big jumps, but that doesn’t mean that the teams that dropped are not a threat. There are still teams like the Houston Rockets that dropped quite a few places but are still a very good team. To see all the rankings of every team look at NBA.com.
