Track and Field at Altamont

Track and Field at Altamont

The OPH track team took part in the Ellis Invite on Monday May 6th at Altamont. This was a huge meet with 14 teams in attendance. The boys team placed 12th out of 14 teams while our girls placed 9th out of 14 teams.

For the boys, the 4×200 relay placed third and the 4×100 relay placed fifth. That was all of the top 5 placings for the boys.

On the girls side of things, Morgan Knoblett placed fourth in the long jump and fifth in the 200. The 4×200 team placed fourth.

Even though there was not a lot of high placings, both teams still competed well. The excitement came at the end of the meet when they had a coaches 4×100 relay. The OPH track coaches, Josh Meadows, Blake Meadows, Devin Turner, and Lukas Baird put on a clinic for the other teams. Our coaches came out victorious with an outstanding performance! This was a fun way to end a long and exciting meet.

The girls team will be in action on Wed at the class 1A girl’s sectional in Altamont.
