OPH Wildcats Face the Chrisman Cardinals

OPH Wildcats Face the Chrisman Cardinals

On Wednesday, February 7th, the OPH Wildcats traveled to Chrisman to face off against the Cardinals. There was a two-quarter JV game and a full Varsity game. The Wildcats played two hard-fought and exciting games.

The JV team started the night off on the right foot for the Wildcats. Even though they only played two quarters, the JV boys played hard and had fun while doing it. The JV team won the game, which gave the Varsity team some extra motivation as their game started.

There was something unusual that happened at this game that isn’t seen very often at a boys varsity game. There were only two officials that were officiating the game. Normally there are three officials that officiate a game because there is a lot that can happen in a varsity game. Only have two officials makes it somewhat difficult to see everything that may happen.

Max Lewis, Riley Blank, Will Callaway, Trevan Webster, and Holden Sipes started the game out strong.

It was a nice strong game all the way until the fourth quarter. It was here that the OPH Wildcats had a difficult time getting the ball to fall in the hoop. Unfortunately, the Wildcats would lose to the Cardinals by 12 points. The final score of the game was 40-52.

Holden Sipes had a total of 5 points for the night. Devin Lawyer ended up with 8 points, and Riley Blank finished with 14 points.

The OPH Wildcats will play in Oblong against Neoga on Friday, February 9 at 6 pm. Make sure that you come out to support the boys as the season is starting to wrap up. The dress-up theme for students is Hawaiian.
