8 Trending Prom Dress Styles
Fringe Styled
Fringe Styled

Fringe styled prom dresses are one of the few dresses that have been in style. This past year fringe has been making an appearance on homecoming dresses, now they’re coming onto prom dresses as well. It’s very stylish and adds more to the dress itself. It can be added anywhere on the dress and when you move around you can see the fringe perfectly. I think this trend for dresses is one of my favorites because it’s fun and stylish.

Feathered Styled

Coming up next, is the feathered styled prom dress. Feathers on prom dresses have been added to the bottom of the dress, and can be shown on the sleeves of the dress too. It’s very cute and adds a fluffier look into the dress if it’s on the bottoms of your dress. If you have the feathers on the sleeves, it adds a subtle touch of something more.

Bow Styled

Many prom dresses that I have seen girls wear on social media, are silk looking dresses with a big bow on the back. I actually really like seeing girls wear this style of dress because it’s very cute and plain yet you have the bow on the back to give the dress a little bit more. I think it’s a classy look and on the elegant side, which I like a lot more than an out there look for a dress.

One Shouldered Style
One Shouldered Style

One shoulder prom dresses are one of the bigger hits out of most styles. I have seen more people locally wear the one shouldered dresses than any other style. If a dress was on the plain side of things and you needed to add touch to it, the one should option is a great pick. It’s trendy and cute, along with if you don’t like off the shoulder things then this is a one step to feeling more comfortable without showing both shoulders. I think it’s a perfect trend of style for prom!

Cutout Styled
Cutout Styled

Cutout prom dresses have been popular for a while now. These dresses can feature small or larger cutouts on the side, middle, or back of the dress. Cutout dresses tend to fall on the bolder side of prom dress styles. Cutouts can help bring a simple dress to the next level. This style of dress is perfect for someone that wants to make a statement at prom.

Corset Styled

Corset style dresses have a timeless feel to them as they have been popular for quite some time. This is the type of dress style that will probably never go out of fashion.  This style of dress helps define your hips, waist, and bust. Like the cutout dresses, corset dresses are on the bolder side, but it is the perfect style if you want to show off a little.

Form-fitting with Slit Style

Form-fitting prom dresses with a slit is among one of the most popular styles of dresses. The slit in this style often starts just below the hip, on one side of the dress, which allows for one leg to be exposed at all times. This style can be bought in many different ways. Such as just plain color, with glitter, or a floral design. So much can be done with this style of dress and that is why it is very popular.

Cape Styled

Prom dresses with capes have been trendy for a while. However, locally there are not a lot of people I have seen wear this style. Having a cape adds a bit of flare and elegance to a dress. It can also help take a casual looking dress to the next level, such as the dress in the picture. If you are looking for something simple, but with a little flare, then a dress with a cape is for you.
