Fresh-Soph Scholastic Bowl Tournament

IHSA Scholastic Bowl
given
IHSA Scholastic Bowl

On Saturday, January 6th, our freshman and sophomore Pal-Hut scholastic bowl team competed in the Mattoon Fresh-Soph Invitational. The teams that competed include, Pleasant Plains, Cumberland, St. Joseph-Ogden, Charleston, Johnson City, Effingham, Mattoon, Marshall, Greenville, Edwards County, Monticello, and Fairfield. Though they are small they are mighty, only having three members attending, Brylee Tingley, Gracelyn Arvin, and Odin Cunningham. Bringing the record for JV up to 5-12!

At the invitational, they had top scorers, which our very own Odin Cunningham won. He scored a total of 495 points off of tossups throughout the day.

On Monday, January 8th, the Scholastic Bowl team with jump back into action, with both JV and Varsity. They will compete at Robinson High School to continue participating in our partnership with LIC schools and participate in conference matches. On Monday, the Pal-Hut Scholastic Bowl team will be facing Robinson, Newton, and Olney.

A special thank you to Country Financial, Marathon, Lincoln land, Kennedy Auto Care, Pioneer City Meat Market, and Goodwine Funeral Homes for allowing us to pursue this season.
