Midterm Elections!
November 6th was the midterm elections for the US. All the seats in the house were up for election, as were a third of the seats in the Senate. After all the votes were in, the Democrats now have control over the house, and Republicans over the senate, making it a split congress. As for Illinois, the five major seats up for grabs were Illinois Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Treasurer, and Comptroller. Now for the results:
- Illinois Governor: JB Pritzker winning with 54% of the votes (D)
- Illinois Attorney General: Kwame Raoul winning with 54.1% of the votes (D)
- Illinois Secretary of State: Jesse White winning with 67.9% of the votes (D)
- Illinois Treasurer: Michael Frerichs winning with 57.1% of the votes (D)
- Illinois Comptroller: Susana Mendoza winning with 59.4% of the votes (D)
