March Against Drugs

On Wednesday October 31, Palestine Grade School held a parade for Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon week was about saying no to drugs, and this parade was a walk against them. It also allowed all the kids to dress up in their Halloween costumes. Due to bad weather, the parade had to be held inside in the gym. Preschool-5th grade were the ones participating in the march. Parents were also allowed to come and watch the parade.  The Senior Seminar class helped out as well handing out candy and pumpkins.

At the end of the parade Chief Besing and another police man from Robinson brought a drug dog into the gym. They both then demonstrated how well the dog could find drugs by placing them into a box, and then mixing that box with 4 others. After this they put a protective sleeve onto one of their helpers and showed how well the dog was at taking down anyone hostile.
