Christmas Band

This year, as we continue the annual tradition, the Palestine Junior High and High School band will perform their Christmas concert on December 20th at 6 pm. It will be held at Palestine Grade School in the gymnasium. This concert will feature the junior high choir, the junior high and high school band, and the 5th grade beginner band. They also combine the junior high, high school, and 5th grade bands for one piece of music that they call their “monster band” piece.

The Junior High and High School Band will be preforming several arrangements including Sleigh Ride, A Fireside Christmas, and Somewhere in my Memory.

The 5th grade Beginner Band will be joining the PGS and PHS band and playing a song called Pachabells Canon.

While they may be small, they are mighty. The combined Palestine junior high and high school band has only 10-12 people, but those 10-12 people can make it sound like there’s 55-60 people. With their various other performances at girl’s basketball games, the Labor Day parade, The Heath Harvest Parade, and the Palestine Homecoming Parade, they never disappoint when it comes to putting on a show. These kids have been working hard on these Christmas Concert pieces to ensure that they are past the point of perfection. Even with the younger band members, there is always dedication shown throughout the entire band.

This concert is one you surely don’t want to miss. Enjoyment is promised as all sections get a chance to shine. Ranging anywhere from percussion to flutes to voices, these instruments and their operators are very talented.
