I’m sure you’ve all been wondering how the kickoff games went, and I am here to give the results.

Urbana came in first place, winning every one of the nine rounds they participated, with Varsity Centennial Champaign coming in a close second, winning eight rounds and losing only to Urbana in the final round.

Our Varsity Team reached #14, with two of our varsity players went into the top twenty out of ninety-seven, with them being Odin Cunningham at #20 and me at #18. Gracelyn Arven came in at #58, Jack Hawkins came in at #80, and Zoey Rinesmith came in at #93. Alyssa McCleary of Varsity Centennial Champaign came in at #1.

The Junior Varsity Team had a rough day, leaving with a 0-8 win streak. Cheyenne Newlin came in at #62, Brylee Tingley came in at #77, and Wyatt Holmes came in at #79.

Our Varsity team won three out of the eight rounds we participated in, beating Greenville C, Neoga, and Junior Varsity Centennial Champaign. We lost to Mattoon, Varsity Cumberland, Paris, Dieterich, and Junior Varsity Central Champaign.

Our Junior Varsity team played against Dieterich, Varsity Central Champaign, Junior Varsity Cumberland, Greenville A, Charleston, Greenville C, Greenville B, and Cumberland B.

We have no games until January, when the Mattoon Fresh-Soph Invitational is being held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 6. The next full-team game is being held the following Monday, at 5 p.m. in Robinson.

Special thanks goes to our sponsors, Country Financial, Lincolnland Agri-Energy LLC, Pioneer City Meat Market, Kennedy Auto Care, and Goodwine Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, our sponsors.
