Lady Tigers Senior Night

Lady+Tigers+Senior+Night

“No matter how hard you try, eventually the season will end. Cherish the moments on and off the court.”

Last night, Thursday, October 19 the Lady Tigers took on the Moving Maroons from Dieterich. This was the Lady Tigers last game in Hutsonville this season. This meant that it was senior night for the 5 Lady Tiger seniors. The Palestine seniors are Morgan Knoblett and Ahlya Abel. The Hutsonville seniors are Valentine Kersten, Alaina Holcomb, and Francesca Comandini.

Although it was a bittersweet night for the seniors and their teammates, the Lady Tigers went into their game feeling excited and confident.

The JV team was first to show off their skill. With the confidence they carried going into the game there was no doubt they wouldn’t win. Starting off strong, they won the first set. The excitement from the first set carried over to the second set where they won that set also.

After the JV game, the seniors and their parents were recognized.

Next on the agenda was the starting lineup for the varsity game. Starting in middle back, Morgan Knoblett, libero Reese Knoblett, left back Ahlya Abel, right front Ilayna Sheets, middle front Valentine Kersten, left fron Alaina Holcomb.

They all played their hearts out one more time together on the court where they’ve spent many hours of their lives practicing and playing hard. Blood, sweat, and tears have been shed on the court where they WON their senior night in the first two sets.

These seniors have had a fun volleyball career and are all sad to be leaving behind a sport and team they love. We all know they have an exciting future ahead of them and we can’t wait to see where it takes them.
