History of Dating- Auditions

History+of+Dating-+Auditions

Have you ever wondered what dating was like back in the 80’s, or even in Ancient Roman times? Well now you may be able to get a glimpse of what it may have been like with History of Dating play that Drama Club is putting on later in the fall. This cheesy, but hilarious play shows the hardships people had while dating in the past.

On Thursday and Friday during both lunches, Mrs. Hyde held auditions in her room. There were several freshmen that showed up on both days, which Mrs. Hyde always loves to see. There were also a few old faces that have been in Drama Club all four years, such as Ahlya Abel and Michaela Fuller. Coming back for their second play, Morgan Knoblett and Cydney Pethtel are excited to get back on the stage and maybe even have bigger parts than last year.

One thing that is always exciting about auditions is the fact that everyone gets to see the script for the first time. While everyone knew coming into auditions that this play was a comedy, nothing could have prepared us for some of the lines. Some of the lines that are in the play are really cheesy, which makes them even funnier. There were times during auditions where everyone was laughing really hard and had to take a second before we could move on.

If there was one play that would be a good starter play for someone that isn’t sure about being on stage, The History of Dating would be the play to do so. There are so many roles that have very few lines, so it would be the perfect beginner play, especially for freshmen or first time actors.
