On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, the Hutsonville-Palestine Lady Tigers volleyball team traveled to Martinsville, home of the Bluestreaks. Compared to our Lady Tigers, the Bluestreaks have had a losing season.

This was not the first time the Lady Tigers had faced the Bluestreaks. On Saturday, September 16, the Lady Tigers varsity team beat the Bluestreaks in 3 sets, winning the first and third set by a landslide. The Lady Tigers traveled to Martinsville on Tuesday with high hopes and their chests held high.

The JV team took the floor first. The JV team won the first set. They moved on to the second set feeling confident they were also going to win the second set, which is exactly what they did. The JV team brought home a W, giving the varsity team the encouragement to do the same.

Next up was varsity. Varsity started off strong winning their first set 25-6. Thinking nothing could stop them from winning the next set, they lost the second set 23-25. After a close second set, they brought their A game for the third set, but it wasn’t enough and they fell short 23-25 again. Although this wasn’t the expected outcome or outcome the Lady Tigers had hoped for, hopefully this game will fuel a fire for their next game.

Martinsville varsity holds a win-loss record of 2-21, while our Lady Tigers have a very good win-loss record of 14-16.

The Lady Tigers have a home non-conference match vs. Dieterich on Thursday, October 19 at 6:15.

Join them in Hutsonville for when they will hopefully bring home another WIN.
