With the fall festivities of the Wine and Arts Festival happening in Palestine, the Drama Club was able to host their annual parking lot fundraiser. This fundraiser helps raise money for the Drama Clubs scripts, props, haunted house decor, their yearly field trip to watch a professional play in theaters, and any other funds the club needs throughout the year.
The clubs fundraiser consists of drama club members selling parking spots in the Palestine High School parking lot during the Wine and Arts Festival the first weekend in October. To park in the PHS parking lot each car pays $5. Most times, people will make a greater, more generous donation to the club than just $5. This year the club was able to raise $919 on this fundraiser, making this the best they have done throughout the years. Some students that helped with this years fundraiser are Ahlya Abel, Brylee Tingley, Alix Bennett , Carter Nelson, Hannah Nethery, Mirah Cafin, and Cydney Pethtel. The plentiful amount of finances will tremendously help the club this year with their trip to Fox Theater in St. Louis to watch Mamma Mia in the upcoming months.
Another Drama Club fundraiser is approaching here soon on October 20th and 21st. The club will be hosting their annual haunted halls at Palestine High School. The students will be decorating the halls of the school in a variety of spooky ways and will be scaring any visitors that pass through. The entry fee of the haunted halls will be $5 per guest. If you would like to support the PHS Drama Club, come over to the halls on October 20th and 21st. Be prepared to be scared!
