All the time gone by, and what’s to come…
May 23, 2023
You may not know me very well or you do, but I’m Lauren Duffield, or Ghost. I’ve been a student in Palestine for my 7th grade, 8th grade, and freshman years; currently I’m a sophomore, and soon to be a junior.
I had many battles this year. I’ve had to pull myself up from the worst to try to be my best. I struggled with keeping up and staying on top of my school because of the things I’ve had to face this year, but with my stubbornness and the support and help from my family, I’ve been doing better and trying my best. Never be afraid to take leaps of faith in doing what’s best for you and your situation, and never be scared to stand up for yourself. This is my biggest encouragement and best advice to anyone, whether you’re a kid or an adult.
I never knew how fast this year would go by, it’s like I was just sitting at home watching Cartoon Network and playing Legos with my little brother, and now I’m almost an adult. It’s crazy how quick time flies. So enjoy everything in the moment and take risks and have fun!
I was so scared when I was a freshman, walking through the halls. New surroundings, new people, and harder work were what was most terrifying to me. Well guess what… it wasn’t that bad! I had close friends and made friends that made it easier for me, and I am grateful to them.
My most fun memories of this past year would definitely have to be the time I spent with all my friends and my Bio classes with Mr.Smith. This year has been one of the harder years but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have any fun. One of my favorite memories of this year was Homecoming, I just danced my butt off with my partner Kaz, didn’t care about what anyone thought and the music was awesome!
I look forward to next year being a better year. hopefully. I also look forward to new adventures and new beginnings for myself. I am most looking forward to this summer, spending my days with my family, and traveling to Missouri to see my family there. When it’s summer I enjoy all the time I get to spend with my family whether we’re just moseying around or we’re going to the pool on hot days, getting a twin pop, and sharing. I am excited to be a junior at PHS next year! 🙂
