Varsity Wins Against Martinsville

On Tuesday, October 9, the Lady Tiger volleyball team started their game against Martinsville in the Hutsonville High School Gym.  The team played slowly, and the score was back and forth. McKenna Love kept the team on the offense with very nice sets, and Kelsey Hites had several strong serves.  Despite the effort, the first set was lost to the Blue Streaks. The first set warmed the players up, and they came out for the first set very confidently and took the lead.  Hutsonville-Palestine kept the lead and won the second set by several points. The Tigers went to three sets, but they started sluggishly again. The Martinsville Blue Streaks ended the match, winning two of the sets.

The Varsity team played much like the J.V. did, coming out of the gate slowly.  Once getting warmed up, the Tigers started to move and play more quickly. Paige Matthews had a couple nice serves.  Hutsonville-Palestine had a lot of good passes, which led them to a win in the first set. In the second set, the Lady Tigers played quite a bit better, having very strong serves.  Mac Stephenson passed and served very well, which helped the team to win the second set. The Tigers ended the match with a two set victory!
