The noise of the men working at the school can be annoying, but they are making the school look better and be safer.

What these men are doing is called tuck pointing. Tuck pointing is a process to finish or repair mortar joints between bricks or stones with a narrow ridge of lime putty or fine lime mortar. This is going to ensure that the bricks will stay in place, and make the mortar and bricks look uniform and put together.

The tuck pointing process can cost anywhere from $5 to $25 dollars per square foot, and with a building the size of Palestine High School, it can be a lengthy process.  They have been working since the end of the summer and anticipate to be finished within two to three weeks.
