Recently PHS purchased a new school vehicle for transporting students to games, academic events and extracurricular activities such as the Art Club at the grade school. PHS has used an old white van for years and now has upgraded it to a brand new Chevy Suburban.  The old van was not big enough, had some major wear-and-tear, and for the first time in several years, the district had the money to make the purchase.

With the new van we will be able to save gas money for teachers and coaches driving to games, and will also be able to carry all the equipment with them. The old van just didn’t have enough room to get the job done and it was due for a change. With more room in it, more students will be able to be transported back and forth to the grade school and back. It is a lot more durable than the old van, which had some issues with the tires and was not very efficient money wise.

Mr. Will said, “I am excited about the school purchasing the SUV. This is a new vehicle that will service a lot of needs for the school district. In the example of cross country, I will use it to drive to Hutsonville to drive their bus.” He then went on to say that this will save miles on his personal vehicle and is a win-win for everyone using it. “I thought the option to buy a new vehicle was a wise one. This vehicle will service other needs like small group transportation for the grade school and high school. Since it has a variety of uses, I thought it was a smart purchase and I’m glad we got it.”
